Hannah Yeboah
College of Health Sciences
Hannah grew up in Cape Coast, Ghana with her 6 siblings and her father who was a security guard and her mother sold food in the local market.
Hannah had a strong sense of responsibility for supporting her family after her father passed away. She completed her first Bachelor’s degree in Education, but changed paths when her grandmother died of diabetes. “She was so dear to my heart, and I did not have enough knowledge to take care of her. I was so sad. I needed to do something” so she changed her career path to nursing.
She started to explore educational opportunities in Vietnam when her husband got a job teaching English in Vietnam. She saw VinUniversity as a young university with potential. “Let me be part of something new and shoot my shot!’
She has found talented and supportive faculty. She has enjoyed working as a research assistant to Dr. Huyen our nursing faculty where she has learned to help write and edit research papers.
Because her younger brother with cerebral palsy has taught her about the family impact of childhood disease, she plans to be a nurse in the pediatric wards. She plans to work in pediatrics.
She would like to thank our supporters for making scholarships available. “It would not have been possible to pursue my career without my scholarship. Thank you from my heart for your kindness in preparing talents for the future”.
